GharNu ~ ઘરનું ~ is a Gujarati word, which means “of Home”, as in Hindi it is “घर का.”
Across India, countless homes are hubs of remarkable creativity and craftsmanship. Many individuals and families are talented FoodCrafters and ArtCrafters who have transformed their passion into home-based enterprises. From preparing authentic homemade meals and tiffin services to crafting pickles, baking cakes, and catering for special occasions, these entrepreneurs bring exceptional quality and care to everything they create. Others express their artistry through designing, embroidery, handcrafted textiles, and a variety of creative products, meticulously packaging each finished piece for delivery to customers.
Despite their talent, much of this creativity remains hidden, waiting to be discovered and appreciated. These home entrepreneurs represent the spirit of innovation, self-reliance, and entrepreneurship, enriching communities with their skills while building meaningful livelihoods from the comfort of their homes.
GharNu is an effort to showcase, discover, appreciate, connect to and support this Talent.

Founder, Vision, Concept, Design of GharNu is by Roopal Kushal Mehta
Namaste. Over the years after establishing Gujarat Online (in 1999), I always felt the need of recognising hidden talent of our Indian people. Many visitors to India did comment that they knew India as a land of snake-charmers, call centres, IT professionals but they do not know the real people. These comments were enough to start a thought processs. Then came Covid in 2020 and due to lock-downs, a huge number of people from all over, started showcasing their amazing talents, created at home. FoodCrafters. ArtCrafters. As a matter of fact I myself was at a loss of searching whom to contact when a home-made item, service was needed. With encouragement from family & friends, and with help of AI tools, this thought resulted into an idea, and now it has become a reality! May we all grow together…. Roopal Kushal Mehta.
